An investigation is underway after a cook who repeatedly stabbed a delivery driver in a “violent and sustained attack” died in prison.
Raymond Wallace, from Margate, armed himself with a metal rod with sharpened edges after a row erupted at a late-night gathering.

The former D Suga Hut chef stabbed Joshi Thomas-Johnson in the neck, face and buttock with the weapon before walking away down the street and being arrested.
Paramedics rushed the delivery driver to a London hospital as medics worked to stem his loss of blood following the incident on February 11, 2022.
Wallace was accused of attempted murder but was convicted of the lesser charge of wounding with intent.
He was handed a nine-year prison sentence in March 2023.
The 53-year-old was serving his time at HMP Lowdham Grange in Nottinghamshire but was found dead last month.

The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman Adrian Usher said: “We are investigating the death of Raymond Wallace at HMP Lowdham Grange on January 26.
“Our final report will be published on our website after the inquest concludes.”
Wallace, who previously served lengthy prison spells for robbery and aggravated burglary, was set to serve two-thirds of his nine-year sentence before his release.
He would then have been made subject to a restraining order until further notice.
Earlier this year, a coroner accused trouble-hit prison HMP Lowdham Grange of failings and missed opportunities after three prisoners died in their cells just weeks apart.

In December 2023, the facility branded unsafe by inspectors was taken over permanently by the government.
The Ministry of Justice intervened to take control of HMP Lowdham Grange and brought in a new governor to “improve safety and security at the prison”.
