Leicester, UK – 17-02-2025 – The Gurdwara Shri Guru Ravidas Ji on Harrison Road witnessed a grand and spiritually uplifting celebration to mark the 648th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. The multi-day event, which commenced on 12th February with the sacred ‘patha,’ culminated on Sunday, 16th February, with the ‘patha bhog’ and soulful kirtan performed by esteemed local artists.
The celebrations attracted a large congregation of devotees and community members, all uniting to honor the revered saint and spiritual leader. The Gurdwara committee extended a warm welcome to all guests, ensuring an inclusive and enriching experience for those in attendance.
Among the distinguished guests was Rupert Matthews, Police and Crime Commissioner of Leicestershire, who conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the community on this auspicious occasion. The event also saw the presence of notable community leaders and councillors, including Rishu Walia and Councillor Geeta Karavadra, who paid their respects and actively participated in the festivities.


Demonstrating the essence of selfless service, the Brits Desi Society played a significant role by organizing a food stall for devotees. Rishu Walia, Chairman of Brits Desi Society, along with General Secretary Sukhwinder Singh, took blessings from Shri Guru Ravidas Ji before personally distributing food to attendees, embodying the values of compassion and equality championed by the saint.
