There were major disruption to Southeastern services yesterday (February 13) after reports of an incident between Dartford and Gravesend.
Police were called to the line near Northfleet station at about 6.55pm to a casualty on the tracks.
Medics pronounced the person dead at the scene.
Officers are not treating the death as suspicious and a coroner report is being prepared.
All lines between Dartford and Gravesend were closed as emergency services were dealing with the incident.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the line near Northfleet railway station at about 6.55pm yesterday (13 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
