Gillingham midfielder Tim Dieng looks set to be heading out on loan.
Reports suggest the 32-year-old is set to join Gills’ League 2 rivals Cheltenham Town on loan until the end of the season.
The Gills have made no secret that they are likely to see players leave in the winter transfer window to help accommodate new arrivals.
Gillingham have so far brought in three additions, including the permanent signing of Bolton midfielder Nelson Khumbeni.
More signings are expected ahead of Monday night’s transfer deadline.
Dieng joined the Gills two years ago from League 1 Exeter City, with the club triggering a release clause in the midfielder’s contract and signing him for an undisclosed fee.
He was one of several players the Gills signed in that window when the Galinsons first took charge of the club, splashing the cash to avoid relegation. Dieng helped Gillingham to pull clear of trouble in the second half of the campaign.
Dieng’s played 66 times for the Gills in the league, scoring 10 goals, but injuries haven’t helped his time at the club.
He came off the bench at Grimsby on Tuesday night, for his 14th appearance of the season and almost scored, heading an effort onto the post, but was left out of the squad for Saturday’s game against Notts County.
Fellow midfielder Jonny Williams also dropped out of the matchday squad, another player who hasn’t played much football this season.
