Tim Dieng’s loan move from Gillingham to League 2 rivals Cheltenham Town has been confirmed.
Dieng, 32, has signed on loan at Cheltenham until the end of the season.
He’s the second player to leave Gillingham in the winter transfer window after George Lapslie left for Bradford City.
Both Dieng and Lapslie were signed in the 2022/23 January transfer window, arriving to help the Gills pull clear of relegation trouble in League 2.
The Gills paid an undisclosed fee to Exeter City for the midfielder who went onto make 66 league appearances for the club and score 10 goals.
His last appearance came at Grimsby Town last week where he came off the bench and almost scored, heading against the woodwork.
He’s been in and out of the team this season, due to injuries and form.
Gillingham have added Bolton Wanderers’ Nelson Khumbeni to their ranks in the window, signing the 22-year-old midfielder on a deal until the summer of 2027.
The Gills hope to make more signings before the window closes on Monday night.
