ScotRail said they are still unable to operate trains on multiple routes due to damage caused by the horrendous storm.
We reported how the brutal weather hit Glasgow and central Scotland on Friday, January 24, leaving a trail of disruption behind it.
Ahead of it, the Met Office issued a red weather warning for the area from 10am until 5pm.
Following the storm, ScotRail revealed the country’s railway was ‘very significantly damaged’ by it.
The firm said Network Rail reported around 500 individual issues across the network.
These included more than 120 trees on tracks, damaged overhead wires, power supply failures, other objects on the line, and more.
While most of Scotland’s railway lines have now reopened, on Monday, January 27, ScotRail said services are still unable to operate on some routes.
The routes are:
- Kilwinning – Ayr/Largs/Ardossan
- Dalreoch – Balloch
- Ayr – Stranraer
- Paisley Canal
- Paisley – Gourock/Weymss Bay
