Copper Ceylon is the creation of husband and wife duo Haran and Lavan Thurairajah, who began the business serving Sri Lankan flavours in a vibrant setting, with a dining area, bar and party area, which is open till 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
In the past five years since the restaurant opened, the business has won a number of awards including ‘Best Restaurant London Suburbs’ at the British Curry Awards 2022.
To mark five years in business, Copper Ceylon held a celebration in partnership with Grey Goose, which showcased a range of Sri Lankan-inspired cocktails along with their new food menu for 2025.
The event was attended by celebrity guests, including Channel 4 First Dates star Fred Siriex and JLS member Oritsé Williams, who performed at the event.
Also in attendance was the Mayor and Mayoress of Bromley and the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka.
The new menu pays tribute to some of Sri Lanka’s culinary traditions created by well-known chef Marcus Wareing and includes dishes like a fiery Jaffna Mutton Curry and Vegan Lemon Pudding.
Alongside offering vegan-friendly dishes, the restaurant’s menu is also allergen-friendly, and with a 4.8-star Google rating based on 1,434 reviews, Copper Ceylon has become a popular spot for many of Bromley’s locals.
Lavanya Thurairajah, co-founder of Copper Ceylon, said: “This event was a celebration of everything Copper Ceylon stands for — bringing people together to experience the warmth, flavours, and culture of Sri Lanka.”
