Police said their specialist officers and emergency services are in attendance at a property on Branchalfield Drive, Cambusnethan, Wishaw, following a report of items of potential historic ordnance having been found within.
The force said report was received around 7.30pm on Friday, 24 January, 2025.
A Police Scotland statement added: “A cordon is in place as a precaution and Explosive Ordnance Disposal will be attending to assess the items.”
Clare Adamson MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw told her constituents on Facebook: “Police Scotland Lanarkshire have confirmed that emergency services are currently at a property on Branchalfield Drive, Cambusnethan, Wishaw, following the discovery of items that may be historic ordnance.
“The report came in around 7:30 PM on Friday, 24 January 2025.
“A cordon has been established as a safety measure, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts will be attending to assess the items.
“All affected residents have been informed and moved to safety.”
