Walter Buchanan, 65, was convicted at the High Court in Glasgow on January 22 for the murder of Darrell Buchanan at an address in Hamilton Park North.
Officers responded to a report that a woman had died at a property in the area on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
Police attended where they arrested and charged Buchanan in connection with the death of his 37-year-old wife who was from Kenya.

Following Buchanan’s conviction, Detective Sergeant Ian Evans said: “There is no doubt that this is an extremely difficult and traumatic time for Darrell’s family.
“They live each day without her and are devastated by what has happened. He is now being held responsible and I sincerely hope Darrell’s family feels some sense of justice at the court outcome today.
“We remain committed to fighting abuse at every level. I would encourage anyone who is suffering at the hands of an abuser to contact us, we will support you and do everything we can to ensure the perpetrator is held to account.”
Buchanan will be sentenced at a later date.
