The group is made up of Eòghainn Beaton on bodhrán, Megan MacDonald on accordion, Jack Houston on fiddle, Galen Brook on mandolin and Nicky Kirk on guitar.
They played the event which was a showcase of Scotland’s finest emerging talent.
Five new bands including Beatha, Dàna, Dauntless, Lussa, and The Jack Houston Band took to the stage to compete for a coveted spot at next year’s festival. Dauntless went on to win the battle.
Each group brings their own fresh take on Scottish traditional music, from Beatha’s award-winning Celtic style to Dàna’s bold all-female sound, Dauntless’ dynamic trio arrangements, Lussa’s bright global influences, and The Jack Houston Band’s Scottish-Irish fusion.
This much-loved competition has launched the careers of many leading folk acts, including Dosca and Eabhal, and last year’s winners Megan MacDonald, Chloë Bryce and Calum McIlroy.
