A Kent Women’s match will begin the county’s Canterbury Cricket Week for the first time ever this year.
The Horses’ maiden home Vitality Blast League 2 game against Gloucestershire at Canterbury’s Spitfire Ground on Friday, June 27, will herald the start of Kent’s 173rd Canterbury Cricket Week.
The County Championship Division 2 match with Northamptonshire, beginning on Sunday, June 29, will be the red-ball leg with Kent Cricket community team’s ever-popular Schools’ Day Out taking place on day two.
That will see more than 1,000 local schoolchildren given a free taste of the action.
Two days on from the scheduled finish of that game, Spitfires’ Vitality Blast showdown with Sussex Sharks will provide an exciting finale to the week on Friday, July 4.
All valid Kent members will receive two extra complimentary tickets for friends and family to enjoy one day of Kent’s match with Northamptonshire in their 2025 membership packs, which will be posted in the coming weeks.
Chief executive Simon Storey said: “Canterbury Cricket Week is held in extremely high regard by all associated with Kent Cricket.
“Every year, we look to enhance the role of Canterbury Cricket Week as a celebration of cricket, not only in the city of Canterbury, but for the whole of the county of Kent with our Schools’ Day Out, President’s Day and Partners Day all taking place during the festival.
“We are delighted to be able to incorporate our women’s side into the full programme of Canterbury Cricket Week for the first time, especially with their first home match in the Women’s Vitality Blast.
“We hope that members and supporters will attend as much of our six scheduled days of cricket as possible, helping us to make the 173rd Canterbury Cricket Week one to remember.”
