The car was stopped on Great Western Road at around 6.30pm yesterday (Friday) and the items were then found within the car.
Police said a cordon was put in place as a precaution. It’s understood the car was stopped near Anniesland Cross.
The items were assessed and found to be safe. Police did not reveal the nature of the items.
A 55-year-old man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 55-year-old man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences after a car was stopped by officers on Great Western Road in Glasgow around 6.30pm on Friday, January 3.
“Potentially dangerous items were found within the car during the incident and a cordon was put in place as a precaution. The items were assessed and were found to be safe.
“The man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.”
