Police Scotland are urging locals in Dumbarton to remain cautious after a man approached a property on High Mains Avenue on Tuesday, December 31 around 8.55pm to tell the house owner there was an issue with their electricity.
The white male, who had short dark hair and is suspected to be in his 30s told the homeowner he was there to fix the issue and had ‘Scottish Power’ embroidered on the chest of his blue jumper.
The elderly resident refused entry to the suspect after he failed to produce any identification.
The incident was reported to the police and Scottish Power have confirmed no employees were sent to the address.
