The Portslade and Saltdean groups, led by choir master Sharon Lewis, collected the money during two Christmas events.
They sang a blend of medieval and modern songs, alongside solo performances from choir members.
Both events were sold out, and attendees also brought donations for local food banks in Saltdean and Portslade.
Sharon said: “We’re really pleased to have raised such a sizeable amount.
“It was also great to see so many people bring food donations.
“It’s a great way to meet people, improve self-confidence, and it’s also great fun.”
The choirs gather every Wednesday at South Portslade Community Centre and Monday at St Martin’s Church Hall in Saltdean.
