A group from K Barbers, Boundary Road, Hove, and a group from HB Barbers, Station Road, Portslade, clashed in Station Road on April 2, leaving one man with a 25cm long laceration to his arm and a stab wound that went to the bone.
Ayob Mohammed, 21, of Western Road, Brighton, Sardam Qadir, 31, of Blacksail Walk, Oldham, Sarbast Ibrahimi, 25, of Somerhill Avenue, Hove, Kozheen Banaee, 23, of Montpelier Road, Brighton, Hogr Banaee, 23, of Roman Road, Hove, Kosar Banaee, 19, of Elm Grove, Brighton, and Ali Husseni, 19, of Dyke Road, Hove, all faced charges for the incident, including of violent disorder and possession of offensive weapons.
Of the seven men, Mohammed, Qadir and Ibrahimi were found guilty of violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.
During the trial at Brighton Crown Court, footage of the incident was shown to the jury, which showed wooden planks being used to beat people.
Defence lawyer for Hogr Banaee, 23, Anwar Ramzan detailed the “tale of two barbers” and accused the men of K Barbers of bringing “the war, the revolution” to the street.

- Ayob Mohammed – Guilty of violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon
- Sardam Qadir – Guilty of violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon
- Sarbast Ibrahimi – Guilty of violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon
- Kozheen Banaee – No verdict could be reached on charges of wounding with intent, violent disorder and unlawful wounding. Not guilty of having an article with a blade or point and possession of an offensive weapon.
- Hogr Banaee – Not guilty of violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon
- Kosar Banaee – Not guilty of violent disorder
- Ali Husseni – Not guilty of violent disorder
The jury returned the verdicts at Brighton Crown Court on December 19.
Mohammed, Qadir and Ibrahimi are due to be sentenced on February 25.
Kozheen Banaee is listed for mention on January 10.
