Emergency services responded to Hyndland Road at its junction with Westbourne Road at around 4.20pm on Monday following reports of a ‘serious crash’ involving a silver Vauxhall Zafira and a male cyclist.
A 57-year-old man, the cyclist, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition is described as critical.
The road was closed between Hughenden Road and Great Western Road for around four hours while crash investigation work was carried out.
It has since reopened.

Police probing the crash are now appealing for anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage which could assist with their enquiries to come forward.
Sergeant Jack Swindells said: “We are continuing with our enquiries to establish the full circumstances and would like to speak to anyone with information that could help.
“If you have dash-cam or private CCTV footage that could assist then please make contact with officers.”
