Police Scotland is investigating the incidents, which are thought to be linked.

Emergency services were first alerted around 3.20pm on Friday, December 27, when a fire was set within a common close at Ferguslie Walk.

Then, a second close on Millarston Drive engulfed in flames around 7.20pm on Saturday, December 28.

Both fires were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reports of any injuries.

Detective Constable Jack McElwee said: “We will continue to check any relevant CCTV footage for any additional information.

“In the meantime, I would appeal to anyone who was in these areas around the time of the incidents to consider if they noticed anything suspicious or unusual.

“I would also ask people with dash cams and doorbell recording equipment to view their footage as it could hold images which may be significant in our inquiries.”

If anyone has any information, they are asked to call 101, quoting incident number 2037 for the Ferguslie Walk fire and incident number 2807 for the Millarston Drive fire.
