A planning application has been greenlit by Glasgow City Council to create the development on the site bounded By Lancefield Quay/Lancefield Street and Elliot Street.
The bid, by Autoporto Ltd, will see the empty area become a media base temporarily, for 12 months.
Formerly, the land was used as a BT depot and then as a car parking space before being left unused.
According to the documents, the development will provide support for film and television companies who are looking to work in Glasgow.
The space has been used for this purpose before.

According to papers, crews of Batgirl, Tetris, Indiana Jones 5, Borderlands, Black Mirror and more set up camp in the area before.
These workers utilised the ground as “primarily for the parking of vehicles and storage of mobile equipment”.
The applicant said it will “ensure that the site remains secure from unauthorised access and dumping and is kept clean and tidy”.
After the one-year deadline is up, the site will have to be restored to its previous condition.
Measures will also have to be made to minimise light and noise pollution towards the neighbours.
