Saltdean Lido was forced to close temporarily in November due to multiple leaks and issues with the pipework.
Now, it has shared its hopes of reopening on December 20 with new pipes, rewired pool lights and a new roof for the changing rooms.
The pool has also hinted at the arrival of a sauna in the new year.
A spokesman for Saltdean Lido said: “The weather hasn’t exactly been on our side, but the amazing team from Drainline Southern Ltd have been braving the wind and rain to keep everything on track.

“Cutting and laying the paving around the pool is starting soon and will continue as the water gets prepped.
“Meanwhile, over at the changing rooms, the roof is being completely replaced. The weather has caused a few delays, but it’s already much drier inside.
“Everyone’s feeling confident, so the Christmas Day swim is on. We’ll let you know as soon as the booking system is live.
“Oh, and here’s a Christmas teaser for you: take the ‘t’ out of Santa, add a ‘u,’ and what do you get that’s hot? Watch this space.”
