Charli XCX had nothing but praise for Glasgow tonight as she brought her Brat UK tour to the OVO Hydro.
The tour – which follows the release of the star’s new and Grammy-nominated album, Brat – saw Charli make stops in London, Manchester and Birmingham.
But according to the English star, she finished off the tour in the best place possible.
As she kicked off the gig with her song 365 – which she performed alongside support act Shygirl – Charli declared, “Glasgow, we saved the best till last.”
The pop star went on to say: “Glasgow you’re bringing that f***ing energy tonight, I’d expect nothing less baby.”

Playing tracks from Brat like Apple, Von Dutch and Club Classics, the star also performed the biggest and best crowd-pleasers from her other five studio albums including Vroom Vroom, Blame It On Your Love and Speed Drive (From the Barbie soundtrack).
From her endless energy and crowd engagement to her confidence and abundant pleasure for performing, one thing was for certain; this singer knows how to entertain.
Even though it was just her on the stage, as well as her cameraman at times, Charli was able to carry the show from beginning to end – with some incredible choreography and costume changes in between.
The show was like getting a ticket to the best party in town.
It was not just Charli’s ability to have the always incredible Glasgow crowd in the palm of her hand that earned her five stars, but her tight production and masterful use of the stage as well.
The singer used the whole of the stage and its extension – which she was partial to use as a catwalk throughout the show – as well as underneath the stage which was caged and filled with beams.
She even used a rain feature at one point in her set, as well as a scaffolding platform that raised into the air.
But it wasn’t just the big, make-you-sing-your-heart-out songs that won over the crowd, but also the slower tunes too like I Might Say Something Stupid.
Stripped-down moments like these allowed the audience to hear just how incredible Charli’s live vocals are.

What Charli XCX displayed on the arena stage was nothing short of a masterclass in pop.
Throughout the decades, we have seen so many greats like Britney Spears, Beyonce and Rhianna.
And if anyone thought pop might be dead in 2024, they would be wrong. Pop is very much alive, and her name is Charli XCX.
