Police were called to the A27 westbound carriageway in Fontwell, Arundel, at around midnight today, November 30.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash. A 38-year-old man from Rustington was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The drivers of the other two cars and three passengers sustained minor injuries and were assessed by paramedics.

The road was closed from the A285 to the A29 Fontwell roundabout, where a diversion route is still in place. The eastbound carriageway has now been reopened.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
Police are appealing for information from witnesses.
