Brighton and Hove Buses, in partnership with The Argus, has launched its much-loved Santa Bus routes for its 21st year and will be making its very first visit to Westdene tonight, Thursday November 28.
The Christmas bus takes on 20 routes over 20 nights, raising money for 12 different charities.
This year’s charities include Amaze, Brighton and Hove Museums, Brighton Women’s Centre, Chestnut Tree House, Clock Tower Sanctuary, East Sussex WRAS Wildlife Rescue, FareShare Sussex and Surrey, Martlets, Mind Out, Possability People, Rockinghorse Children’s Charity and Together Co.
To date, the festive fundraising initiative has raised £417,000.
Sally Polanski, CEO of Amaze, which supports families with disabled children and young people in Sussex, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as one of the Santa Bus charities this year.
“As well as bringing joy to people who see the bus this year, the bus will also be helping Amaze bring hope and joy to families with disabled children in our community.”

Brighton and Hove Buses managing director Ed Wills said: “We are absolutely delighted to bring the Santa Bus to the people of Brighton and Hove in what is now our 21st year.
“It’s great to take our Santa Bus into the furthest parts of the city, to places where people may not be able to visit the city centre and see the festive lights or visit a grotto.
“The Santa Bus has become an annual institution providing a free way to see Santa Claus and spread joy.
“It also raises money for local charities too, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donates, our customers, volunteers, and the local community for all their help and support.”
Santa Claus said: “Ho-Ho-Ho! What a delight it is to be back in Brighton and Hove.
“Make sure you give me and my elves a wave when we pass you by and don’t forget to follow the ‘elf and safety’ tips that can be found on the buses.co.uk website.”
The routes run from November 25 until December 23.
