Sussex Police said a teenager had been injured in a knife attack in Horsham Park at around 9pm on Halloween evening.
The force said his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police officers were given increased stop and search powers in a bid to find the culprit as well as powers to order people to leave the surrounding area.
It comes after a previous knife incident in the park at the beginning of October.
A spokesman for the force said on social media: “We have put two orders in place this evening, October 31, following reports of a teenage boy being injured with a knife in Horsham Park.
“His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, and he has been taken to hospital for treatment.
“Police resources are currently enhanced in Horsham, and enquiries are ongoing at this time.
“If you witnessed the incident, have information or footage to assist the investigation, we ask you make a report online, or by calling 101, quoting reference 1046 of 31/10.”
The force later confirmed its additional stop and search powers had been rescinded.
The incident last night follows another knife incident in October where a boy was arrested on suspicion of assault.
Sussex Police said they were called to reports of a child carrying a knife and running from Horsham Park on Friday, October 4.
They searched the park and nearby residents directed them to the back garden of a house in Cedar Close.
A flick knife was found nearby.
