The incident happened on the clockwise carriageway of the A282 at around 2.30pm yesterday (October 30).
Both the clockwise and anticlockwise carriageways were closed as the incident was dealt with.
Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and the rider, a man in his 50s, was found injured.
He was pronounced dead shortly after.
In an update just before 12am, National Highways confirmed that all lanes had reopened.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Kent Police was called at 2.32pm on Wednesday 30 October 2024 following a serious collision involving a single motorcycle on the clockwise carriageway of the A282.
“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin is aware.
“The road was closed while the incident was responded to and reopened at around 11.45pm.

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “SECAmb were called at approx. 2:30pm on Wednesday, 30 October to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle near Dartford.
“Sadly, one person died at the scene.”
