London, UK – The Odisha Society of the United Kingdom (OSUK) proudly announces its official registration as a Community Interest Company (CIC), making it the only formally registered organisation under the name Odisha Society of United Kingdom (OSUK) in the UK. This important milestone comes after over four decades of dedicated service to the Odia diaspora. Along with this achievement, OSUK is launching a series of new initiatives to strengthen community engagement and promote Odia culture throughout the UK.
For more than 40 years, OSUK has played a vital role in preserving and promoting Odia culture while providing critical aid during crises, such as natural disasters in Odisha. Now, as the only organisation formally registered under the name Odisha Society of United Kingdom (Reg. Number 15201747), OSUK restated its dedication to uniting and supporting the Odia community across the UK.
In a recent meeting, OSUK shared significant updates regarding its organisational structure, upcoming cultural events, and strategic plans aimed at better serving the expanding Odia population in the UK.
During the recent meeting, OSUK reasserted its commitment to its iconic logo, which was registered as a trademark with the UK Intellectual Property Office under trademark number UK00004027129 in 2024. This logo serves as a symbol of unity and identity within the community. Plans are also underway to upgrade its digital platform to improve accessibility and engagement with its members.
A newly appointed Board of Directors will steer the organisation towards expanding its operational team and redefining its vision to meet the evolving needs of the diaspora. The eight directors are:

- Salil Kumar Das
- Dr. Prakash Kumar Dey
- Dr. Bibhuti Bhusan Pattnayak
- Sasmita Rajhansha

OSUK organizes several events throughout the year, including:
- Annual Conventions featuring cultural performances, seminars, and networking opportunities.

In addition to these regular events, OSUK is excited to announce its plan to host the Bali Yatra in the UK for the first time on November 30, 2024. This event will join other major celebrations, including the Annual Convention and Utkala Dibasa. The society also collaborates with various organisations to strengthen the cultural ties between Odisha and the UK. An updated event calendar, featuring these programs and community activities, will be shared on its website and social media platforms.
In a bid to increase its reach, OSUK is planning to expand its regional chapters across the UK, with identified leaders for each chapter. A regulatory framework is being developed to support this growth.
