The Jackson family has lost another beloved member of their iconic 1960s pop group, the Jackson 5. Tito Jackson passed away on Sunday, September 15, as confirmed by his three sons — Taj, Taryll, and TJ — in an emotional statement shared on Instagram, revealing that their father is “no longer with us.”
In his final Instagram post, Tito paid tribute to his late brother, Michael Jackson, by visiting a memorial in Munich alongside his brothers Jackie and Marlon Jackson. His passing occurred just a month before his birthday on October 15, leading many fans to question the cause. HollywoodLife has gathered more information surrounding the circumstances of Tito’s death.
Tito Jackson, born Toriano Adaryll “Tito” Jackson, was widely known as the lead guitarist of the Jackson 5, alongside brothers Michael, Jackie, Marlon, and Jermaine. The group achieved tremendous success with hits like “ABC” and “I Want You Back,” becoming one of the most influential bands of the late 1960s. Although the Jackson 5 never officially split, the brothers eventually ventured into solo careers.
Tito, aged 70, was mourned by his sons, who are part of the band 3T, in their heartfelt Instagram post. “We are shocked, saddened, and heartbroken. Our father was an amazing man who deeply cared for others. Some knew him as Tito Jackson of the legendary Jackson 5, others as ‘Coach Tito,’ and to some, he was ‘Poppa T.’”
They continued, “Regardless, his presence will be missed immensely. For us, it will always be ‘Tito Time.’ Please remember our father’s message to ‘Love One Another.’ We love you, Pops.”
Tito’s siblings have not yet publicly commented on his passing.
