All lanes have been reopened following a two-hour traffic hold due to a three-vehicle accident on the A2 this evening.
The crash, which involved an overturned car, occurred around 3:30 p.m. on the coastbound carriageway between the M25 junction 2 for Darenth and the B255 for Bean. Initially, three of the four lanes were closed.
Although National Highways reports that all lanes are now open, drivers are still experiencing delays of up to one hour, with traffic backed up five miles from Blackfen to the M25 junction.
Emergency services, including fire engines, police, and ambulances, were on site. All four lanes were briefly shut, with only one lane remaining closed until approximately 5:30 p.m. before reopening.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to assist the South East Coast Ambulance Service, sending three fire engines to the scene. The crews had departed by 4:30 p.m.
Kent Police confirmed they responded to reports of the collision involving three vehicles. One person has been reported injured.
