Behind-the-scene pictures have emerged of the latest Marvel film being shot in Kent.
The cast and crew of Kraven the Hunter – due out later this year – took over historic fort The Citadel in Dover for five months.
Pictures show trailers, cranes and cameras set up around the former Napoleonic fortress as night shoots took place and stunts were carried out.
Another shows crew taking a break in a food tent.
The upcoming superhero film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Russell Crowe.
Owner of The Citadel, which has been used for other filming projects, David de Min told KentOnline: “This was one of the biggest film shoots in Kent.
“All the local hotels were filled up and the restaurants and pubs all positively benefited from the economic impact this film had to the community and the wider town.
“I believe it is also bringing publicity to Dover and The Citadel as one of the world’s most unique filming locations.”
Mr de Min explained the changes made to the fort, including adding fake snow and building a new water tower.
Filming ended in March 2022 but those involved were sworn to secrecy until now with the announcement of the release date, December 13 this year.
Mr de Min and is brother Michael were given roles as prison inmates.
The Citadel has regularly been used as a filming location.
In May it was revealed that scenes for the new TV series Gandhi were shot there, detailing the life of the civil rights legend Mathatma Gandhi.
The large site was also used for filming scenes in Danny Boyle’s Sex Pistols punk drama Pistol, in 2021, and the TV show Whitstable Pearl.
The Citadel was used as an army base during both world wars and from the 1950s was a prison and then borstal.
It was an immigration removal centre until 2015.
A hotel, restaurants and shops are eventually planned for the site, as well as weddings.
