Paul Smith, of Glaive Road, Blairdardie, Glasgow, previously admitted the crime that took place at Craigendoran rail station.
The charge stated that in close proximity to a number of others, he culpably and recklessly dispensed vapour from an aerosol can or similar, lit it to create a flame and exposed others to risk of injury.
Appearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on August 6, the 19-year-old was said to have been waiting with friends at the time.
His defence solicitor, Stephen McGuire, said: “The stupidity is not lost on him.”
Sheriff Lorna Anderson said: “With the benefit of reflection, I’m sure you recognise the stupidity.”
Noting his young age, the sheriff deferred sentence on Smith for him to be of good behaviour for the next six months.
She added: “Hopefully if you are of good behaviour, we will be able to draw a line under it.”
