Two lanes are shut on the M25 due to a broken-down lorry with a gearbox issue.
Motorists heading anti-clockwise between Junction 3 for Swanley and Junction 2 for Dartford are affected with lanes three and four closed.
National Highways traffic officers are at the scene, where there is three miles of congestion.
There are approximately 20 minutes of delays.
It is not known when the route could fully reopen.
