Eataliano has announced that their owner, Manio, has been laid to rest in his Italian hometown. The Hamilton-based restaurant, which closed in late July to honor his memory, will reopen on Thursday.
In a new statement, the restaurant, located on Almada Street, shared, “Following Manio’s passing, the restaurant will reopen on Thursday, August 8, at 11:45 am. Manio was laid to rest in his hometown in Italy on Thursday. We will announce the details of a memorial service for Manio once they are finalized and inform all customers accordingly.”
The restaurant expressed gratitude to customers for their kind words, cards, and messages.
Customers reacted on Facebook, with one saying, “Glad to hear you’re reopening. We are still in shock and can’t believe what happened. Manio was a wonderful person and highly respected. We will miss him dearly.”
Another commented, “He will be greatly missed by all. I believe he would want the restaurant to continue. Still in disbelief and saddened.”
