The Lancing Driving Test Centre in Chartwell Road, is set to shut for good after reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) was found in the building.
The concrete, which is found to be at risk of collapsing, means the building is no longer safe to use.

A Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency spokesman told driving instructors: “Due to reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) at Lancing Driving Test Centre, the site will permanently close on Monday 5 August 2024.
“For learner drivers and approved driving instructors visiting the site before this date, there will be no waiting room or toilet facilities available.
“Driving examiners will meet candidates at their vehicle.
“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause for some customers.”
Tests that were booked for Lancing will now be carried out from Field Place in Worthing.
This change is not expecting to result in any cancellations or test delays, however the routes used in the tests will now be different.
