Gillingham have had to rearrange several of their fixtures after one of their matches was picked for live TV coverage.
Sky Sports’ new agreement with the EFL means more matches are being covered in the lower leagues and they’ve picked the game between the Gills and AFC Wimbledon for live broadcast.
That decision has had a knock-on effect and has meant two other games have been moved, including the one on New Year’s Day.
The match against the Dons was originally scheduled for Sunday, December 29 at Plough Lane and will now take place the following day, with an 8pm kick off on Monday, December 30.
The Gills were due to host Bromley on New Year’s Day – a popular fixture over the festive period – but that match will now take place on Thursday, January 2 at 7.45pm.
An additional change sees the trip to Chesterfield, which was scheduled for Saturday, January 4 moved to the Sunday (Jan 5), still with a 3pm kick off.
In addition, the Gills have also moved their home game against Cheltenham Town from Saturday, December 21 to the Friday night (Dec 20) with a 7.45pm kick off.
All league games for live Sky Sports selection have now been made up to the weekend of January 11/12.
More changes to the fixture list could follow when the next batch of picks are made.
Non-Sky Sports subscribers can watch live games with a NOW Sports Day pass or monthly membership.
