LaLiga giants Real Madrid have become the first football club to exceed $1 billion in revenue within a financial year. The Spanish club, which boasts stars such as Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr., and recently signed Kylian Mbappe, reported a revenue of $1.08 billion (£836 million) for the 2023-24 financial year.
This revenue figure, which does not include player transfers, marks a 27 percent increase—equivalent to £193 million—compared to the previous year. The club’s post-tax profit also saw a significant rise, up 32 percent to £14.4 million.
Real Madrid had a successful season, securing the Champions League, the LaLiga title, and the Spanish Super Cup. Several players from the team went on to win the Euros with Spain.
In a statement, Real Madrid highlighted this achievement as unprecedented in football history, emphasizing the club’s robust financial health with net equity of €574 million. They noted a continuous profitable trend over the years, though revenues from broadcasting rights declined compared to the previous season.
The club topped the latest Deloitte Football Money League, released in January 2024, with €831.4 million in revenue, leading Manchester City (€825.9 million), Paris Saint-Germain (€801.8 million), and Barcelona (€800.1 million).Source link
