Bromley Council is seeking feedback to refine plans for the relocation, which was announced in October 2023.
The new location will be the site of the former Topshop store on the High Street.
The larger site will not only accommodate the library’s existing resources but also make room for enhancements such as a children’s section and modern study areas.
Feedback from residents on various aspects of the library will facilitate the library’s design.
Over the past months, Bromley Central Library users and residents have provided “valuable feedback”.
The survey will close on July 15.
Residents can complete the survey either online or at Bromley Central Library.
More details about the proposals will be shared later in the year with the Council’s Executive Committee set to review the final plans.
Additionally, an investment of over £10million has been marked as part of a larger Library Repair Programme in nine of Bromley borough’s libraries.
The present Bromley Central library shares its space with the Churchill Theatre.
Councillor Yvonne Bear, Executive Councillor for Renewal Recreation and Housing said: “This prime location in the High Street is the opportunity to secure the future of the library and bring it further into the heart of the high street, providing a highly convenient location for residents while boosting the local economy around it.”
She added: “As one of the busiest libraries in London, we know how important Bromley Central Library is to our borough and to all who use it, which is why we are taking such care with these plans and seeking views from residents throughout this process.
“I thank those who have already provided feedback and encourage all those with an interest in the library’s future to share their views, so they can join in shaping these plans to ensure they are right for Bromley.”
