A former long-serving Kent chief executive will take on the role of the club’s chairman for an interim period.

Jamie Clifford, who left Kent in early 2018 after 15 years with the club, including seven years as CEO, will serve as chairman following Simon Philip’s retirement until the club’s annual general meeting next year. During this time, the board plans to fill non-executive director vacancies and appoint a long-term chairman.

Clifford expressed his commitment to the club, stating, “I care deeply about Kent Cricket and it will be an honour to serve the club in the coming months as chair.” He looks forward to supporting the board, chief executive Simon Storey, and the executive team as they work on plans for the club’s future growth. Clifford hopes to ensure a smooth transition for his long-term successor to address future challenges and opportunities.

After his tenure at Kent, Clifford became a vice-president in 2018 and later served as the assistant secretary of Marylebone Cricket Club for three years. He joined the Kent Cricket board as a director in 2022 and also serves as the secretary of Rye Golf Club.
