Muhammed Alum, 47, of Thomas Road in London, was apprehended on December 23, 2023, in Brighton with Class A drugs in his possession. Attempting to conceal his identity, he provided false information to police officers during the arrest.
Following a trial at Lewes Crown Court on June 12, Alum was convicted of possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin, as well as driving without a licence or insurance. Officers detained him on Queen’s Park Road in Brighton after linking his vehicle to drug supply suspicions. Subsequent searches of his car uncovered quantities of cocaine and heroin.
In response to the sentencing, Sussex Police Detective Constable Jan Summers emphasized their stance against drug trafficking, underscoring the community’s well-being as their priority. Alum received a seven-year prison sentence, along with six penalty points and a fine exceeding £200, signaling law enforcement’s resolute efforts to combat drug-related crime.
