A fallen tree has caused travel chaos in and around Glasgow this evening.
Taking to X, ScotRail have said that due to a tree blocking the railway, all lines between Thorntonhall and East Kilbride are closed.
As a result, train services between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride have been cancelled until the tree can be cleared.
It is unknown how long it will take.
ScotRail said: “Due to a tree blocking the railway between Thorntonhall and East Kilbride all lines are closed.
“Train services between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride will be cancelled until the tree can be cleared. We’ll keep you updated.”

It has now been confirmed that staff are on site with chainsaws.
Network Rail Scotland said on X: “We’re dealing with a tree on the line at Hairmyres which has closed the Glasgow – East Kilbride line.
“Our Mobile Operations Manager has confirmed all tree branches have now been removed and staff are currently on site with chainsaws to remove the rest of the tree.”
