People have been receiving texts from scam artists who are pretending to be a family member or child.
The scammers pretend they have lost or broken their phone and therefore need money.

Rother Police are now urging people to take precautions if they get a text similar to this one.
More information about how to report scams can be found at https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-phishing.
A spokesman for the police force said: “Don’t be tempted to transfer money immediately, enquire further by asking who specifically it is by name or asking for a voice note, or try calling them on the number you have in your contacts and ask if they sent the message.
“Alternatively, try and contact someone who may be with them to confirm the text is genuine.”
People should be reminded to never give out any financial bank details over the phone without checking who is asking.
