Emergency crews remain at the scene of the alarming sighting in the Wested Lane area of Swanley, having been called shortly before 7pm.
Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the paraglider, or has any information that could help, to come forward.
Superintendent Nick Sparkes said: “Officers are looking to confirm if the pilot landed safely unaware of the concern for their safety, or if the public saw anything to aid emergency services.”
