The event, in Brighton and Hove, is the first of its kind in the city and will take place across two weekends.
The aim of the celebrations, which are free, is “to raise awareness of the immense value of trees to the city and its residents”.

Various events will be held across the next two weekends including guided walks, workshops for children, music and poetry. One event is entitled The City’s Unique Elm Trees Walk.
More information about specific events across the city can be found at https://www.cpresussex.org.uk/tree-festival/.
The festival, which has been organised by a team of volunteers, is supported by Sussex countryside charity CPRE Sussex.
It is being sponsored by Connick Tree Care, Hanningtons Brighton and Rampion Offshore Wind.
A spokesman for the festival said: “The Tree Festival’s family friendly events highlight the importance of Brighton and Hove’s trees and their immense value to the city and its residents.
“The festival runs over two weekends in May at the same time as the London Urban Tree Festival.”
