Gillingham say they are keen to make a new management appointment quickly.
Stephen Clemence was fired on Monday after six months in the job and there will be names already on the wishlist of the club having so recently been through the recruitment process.

Clemence got the job after Gillingham spent a month looking for the man to replace Neil Harris, who was sacked in early October.
A crazy season for Harris ended with him back at Millwall, where he’s led them to safety in the Championship, after a brief spell as Cambridge United’s head coach in League 1.
American owner and chairman Brad Galinson will now be seeking his third manager/head coach in the space of 16 months since taking over at the Gills.
Director of Football, Kenny Jackett, has spoken of their desire to get a new coaching team in quickly.
He said: “We now begin the process of appointing a successor to Stephen and Robbie.
“We are identifying targets we believe could take this club forward and will be looking to make an appointment as quickly as possible, so the new management team can form an integral part of the squad building process straight away.”
Mr Galinson made it clear the kind of manager he wanted when speaking during the process last time around.
He said then: “The person we appoint is above all brave, courageous, takes risks, is front-footed, expansive, entertains and wins at the same time.
“Obviously, sometimes you have to use direct football but we want to build something that is a bit more brave and courageous.”
Plenty of people will be keen that the Gills do make a quick appointment, none more so than the current playing squad.
They will be keen to know what is happening now, with some of their own futures on the line, whether in contract or not.
Players such as Jayden Clarke and Ashley Nadesan didn’t feature much under the last boss but might have a future under someone new, while there are negotiations that need to be had with the likes of Dom Jefferies and loan-man Connor Mahoney, who had an impressive stint with the Gills.
