A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a van was found blocking the railway line.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the level crossing at East Farleigh, near Maidstone, last night where a vehicle was found abandoned on the tracks.
The man was found with the assistance of BTP London and arrested.
A breath test at the roadside revealed he had 65 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath and then it was 58 when tested in custody.
The legal limit of 35.
The suspect remains in custody and will be interviewed when sober.
BTP were also called to Tonbridge last night where a man was arrested for allegedly assaulting railway staff.
Furthermore, officers attended the Canterbury East Railway Station and arrested a woman on suspicion of trespassing.
