Drake Responds to Kendrick Lamar in New Track Leak – Hollywood Life
Drake appears to counter Kendrick Lamar in an unreleased track titled “Push Ups (Drop and Give Me 50).” This comes shortly after J. Cole publicly expressed regret over his collaboration with Kendrick on “7 Minute Drill.” Drake, aged 37, is generating buzz with leaked lyrics from his latest work.
In one verse, Drake raps, “How the heck are you acting big with size 7 shoes? Your last attempt failed, you’re not really succeeding. They make excuses for you because they hate to see my success. Review your contract as we need to discuss the split. No way you’re doing splits; your pants might tear.”
He also takes a dig at Kendrick’s features on songs by Maroon 5 (“Don’t Wanna Know”) and Taylor Swift (“Bad Blood”), referring to Kendrick as a “pipsqueak” in the process.
Drake’s response comes after Kendrick Lamar’s controversial verse on a leaked AI-generated diss track.
Earlier this month, J. Cole expressed mixed feelings about his involvement in Kendrick’s diss toward Drake on “7 Minute Drill,” highlighting the tension in the rap scene.
The Drake-Kendrick rivalry intensified after Kendrick’s uncredited verse on Metro Boomin’ and Future’s “Like That” in March, where J. Cole labeled them the “big three.” This sparked a series of responses, including Kendrick’s reference to Drake’s “First Person Shooter” in his lyrics.
