Police have recovered a stolen Range Rover from a residential street.
A member of the public alerted officers to the dented Evoque model parked in Knights Way, Dartford, earlier today.
Data released by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) shows Range Rovers are among the most stolen cars in Britain, with 5,533 models taken in 2022.
Only the Ford Fiesta had a higher rate that year, with 5,979 thefts reported.
Thieves have been known to hack into new keyless technology to take the 4×4 vehicles, which are targeted for their high resale value.
Jaguar Land Rover, which owns the Range Rover brand, revealed earlier this month how it is to spend “several hundreds of thousands of pounds” helping to strengthen policing at UK container ports.
It hopes the move will stop criminal gangs in the tracks, as stolen vehicle parts or even entire Range Rovers have previously been exported in containers.
Police have been contacted for more information.
