Borde Hill on the edge of Haywards Heath has a collection of more than 180 magnolia varieties.
A self-guided magnolia trail, available from February to mid-April, while the plants are in season, allows visitors to take a stroll through the beautiful trees.
The trees trace their roots back to the early 1900s when plant hunters introduced their seedlings into cultivation.
Many of Borde Hill’s magnolia have earned the status of “champion” tree, with the tallest height or largest girth in the British Isles. One is 60ft tall.
Harry Baldwin, head of horticulture, said: “Our trail reflects the diversity of magnolia flowers, ranging from delicate double pinks to striking yellows and ivory whites – it’s a sight not to be missed.”
The self-guided magnolia trail information is available from the visitor reception and the trail is included in the garden entry price.
For an extra charge, groups of 15 people or more can enhance their visit by pre-booking a guided tour with head of horticulture Harry Baldwin.
The garden is open daily until the December 22, 2024.
Tickets cost £12 for adults, £11.50 for concessions and £8 for children (three to 16 years).
