Adur District Council has set out plans to demolish the existing Buckingham Park South Pavilion, in Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham, and replace it with a new modern facility.
This is set to include a café, sports clubhouse and public toilets, as well as an accessible Changing Places bathroom.
The café will have a terrace area with a view over the sports pitches and the playground.
The council has also said it wants to use building materials that are resistant to vandalism and arson so that the building will be long-lasting.

At the moment, the current pavilion building has been failing to meet community needs.
A spokesman for Adur District Council said: “For some time the building has let down the rest of the park aesthetically and it fails to meet the needs of its users.
“The toilet facilities are of a poor standard and the building itself needs constant maintenance due to its age.
“We are therefore working on plans to completely replace the existing building and provide new, modern toilets and sports facilities, including changing rooms and a larger café.”
A planning application will soon be submitted and if approved, construction will begin in August.
The council is aiming for the new facility to be completed by summer 2025.
Residents have been invited to contact the council if they wish to share their views and opinions.
