Plans have been submitted for the empty Saltdean Boarding Kennels, in Westfield Avenue North, to be replaced with seven new houses.
The proposed development includes plans for a mixture of two-bed, three-bed and four-bed homes.
The plans also include proposals for off-street parking spaces and a communal cycle storage area.

At the moment, the site has four one-storey detached buildings, formerly used as kennels, and one house with a garage.
The consultation period for the plans is currently underway.
One member of the public commented on the Brighton and Hove City Council’s planning portal to oppose the plans.
They said: “When will this council realise Saltdean is full?
“No doctors places, no dentist places, primary school full to bursting, failing bus service, already far too busy coast road not to mention the detrimental effect on the already massively affected wildlife.
“The road floods when there is heavy rain and covering more open ground will only add to this runoff and affect existing houses further down the road.”
The final decision on whether these plans will go ahead is set to be made by April 4.
