Smile Cafe on Douglas Street in the city centre bagged three gongs at this year’s Scottish Cafe and Bakery Awards.
The eatery won Cafe of the Year in South West Scotland, Cafe of the Year for Scotland, and Best Loved Cafe in the South West.
Meanwhile, several other cafes across the city including Caffe Calla, Paton’s Place, and Little Royal Cafe also won awards at the event.
The event, which was formerly known as the Scottish Cafe Awards, aims to celebrate the best of the country’s coffee industry.
It also aims to reward the very best professionals and establishments in the cafe industry and celebrate those who ‘put so much effort into providing high-quality food, snacks, and hot beverages on-the-go to customers across the country’.
The prestigious awards ceremony took place on Sunday, February 18, at the Doubletree by Hilton in Glasgow.

- Cafe of the Year (South West) – Smile Cafe (Glasgow)
- Cafe of the Year (Overall Winner) – Smile Cafe (Glasgow)
- Best Loved Cafe of the Year (South West) – Smile Cafe (Glasgow)
- Best Cafe Ambience – Caffe Calla (Glasgow)
- Best of Glasgow – Little Royal Cafe
- Garden Centre Cafe of the Year – Rouken Glen Garden (Giffnock)
- Bakery of the Year – Paton’s Place (Glasgow)
- Sandwich Shop of the Year – Bite Me Sandwich Bar (Glasgow)
A spokesperson for the Scottish Cafe and Bakery Awards 2024 said: “It was a great night as we hosted our first event under our rebrand.
