M25 A2 London bound fire: Drivers warned to expect delays - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates



Fire crews from Kent Fire and Rescue services were called to the scene of the lorry fire at around 3:17pm today (February 8) on the A2 London-bound on the slip road of the M25 in Darenth.

Fire crews are at the scene and are working to extinguish the flames.

Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier have been despatched.

There have been no reported injuries.

Drivers in the area are warned to expect potential delays whilst fire crews are at the scene.

AA Maps is currently suggesting that the exit ramp of the M25 is closed anticlockwise with delays in the area.

According to AA Maps, the fire has resulted in smoke blowing along the A2 leading to poor visibility in the area.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue services said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance at a lorry fire off the A2 London-bound, on the slip road for the M25, Darenth.

“Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier have been sent to the scene, where crews are using compressed air foam and hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

“No injuries have been reported.

“Drivers are advised to expect some delays in the area while firefighters work at the scene.”
